Safety Plan
View Above
Dear Parents and/or Guardians,
The purpose of this post is to let you know the changes that were put in place in order for the Milwaukee Health Department to approve our re-entry plan. Safety is the most important thing to us as we start bringing students back into the building. Our re-entry plan will only be successful if home and school work together to make the safety of our staff and students our number one priority.
The guiding principles of our plan include:
Anyone sick or showing symptoms listed below MUST stay home.
Staff and students will maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet from other adults and students when possible.Staff and students will cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or the inside of the elbow, throwing the tissue away, and then washing/sanitizing hands.Staff and students will wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or use an EPA approved alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Hand sanitizer stations were installed in all classrooms.Staff and students will be required to wear a mask in the building. Masks may be removed while eating breakfast, lunch, during recess and nap time.In addition to school supplies, students will need to supply their own labeled water bottle. The school has installed bottle filling stations for student use. Students should come in uniform if they have them from last year. A uniform shirt order form will go home the first day of face to face instruction. Polo Shirt order forms should be returned to school with cash payment. The orders will be filled and sent home with the student.
Students Entering the Building for Breakfast
Immediately upon arrival, students will remain in their car and will be met by a staff member. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THE DOOR. Their temperature will be taken. Once you receive the ok, students may exit their car and enter the building where they will sanitize their hands, pick up a grab and go breakfast, and proceed directly to their classroom. Students will be sent home if they have a fever of 100.4 or higher. They must be fever-free for three (3) days without the use of fever-reducing medications and otherwise symptom-free of COVID-19.
Late Students Students who arrive late will enter through the main doors only. Parents should not leave until their child’s temperature has been checked and ok’d. Students will then report directly to the office.
Student Illness
In the event that your child becomes sick during the school day, they will be sent to the office for additional screening, and will wait for IMMEDIATE pick up in the waiting room.
Dismissal
Parents must remain by their car during dismissal. A staggered dismissal will be implemented. All students will be escorted to their parents' car for safety by a staff member.
After School Care
Students will be escorted to a designated room/area after dismissal. These rooms will be disinfected prior to usage. There is limited space in after school care so please contact your campus office.
Visitor Policy
Non-essential visitors and volunteers will not be allowed to enter the building. Parents/guardians may only enter a school building in the event of an emergency. All essential visitors are expected to self-screen for symptoms. Those with any symptoms are not permitted to enter a school building. These visitors must wear a face mask.
Our school day starts with breakfast at 7:15a.m. and ends at 2:45p.m. K4 and K5 will come back on Thursday, September 17th. 1st and 2nd grade will come back on Friday, September 18th.
We thank you for your understanding and patience during this unusual time. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call your campus office.
God Bless, Mrs. O’Donnell Mrs.Pope Mrs. Radiske
